Annie Powell

Instructor Bio

Annie Powell is in her fifth year of teaching at the College of Idaho. After earning a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Southern University in 2014 and a Master’s degree in Vocal performance from Brigham Young University in 2016, she completed a year of doctoral studies at Indiana University before ending up here in Treasure Valley. Most recently Annie earned a Vocology certificate from the University of Utah’s 2021 Summer Vocology Institute learning from Ingo Titze and other notable voice scientists and pedagogues. Although teaching is her primary passion, she also loves to perform. Her favorite performed roles include Rosina in Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia and Cherubino in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro. When Annie isn’t teaching or singing you may find her curled up with a good book, baking, hiking, or heading down to Arizona to visit her nieces and nephew!
