Two of the robotics teams Cris coached have reached the international finals, and Team Inspiration took the 2020 top prize in the world.

In his career, Cris spends most of his time on both sides of the stage, and on both sides of the glass in the recording studio. He is always coaching voice and auditions, (performances, recitals, robotics, speech meets, debate, forensics, senior thesis projects, interviews) music directing, conducting vocal and instrumental groups, directing, arranging, singing, acting, and recording. He’s been onstage with End of the Rainbow, Twelfth Night, Footloose, Chasing The Song*, Forbidden Broadway, Legally Blonde, Phantom, Midsummer Night’s Dream, Another Roll of the Dice*, I Love A Piano, many Festivals of Christmas, Tenderly: The Rosemary Clooney Story, and My Sinatra (w/Cary Hoffman). He has worked on many world premieres with renown Broadway and Tony Award-winning directors Jack O’Brien, Christopher Ashley, Des MacAnuff, Alex Timbers, Stafford Arima, and Ken Page, writers Aaron Sorkin, Don Black, Mark Saltzman, composers Frank Wildhorn, Mark Bennett, Andrew Lippa, Michael Friedman, and Balint Varga, and conductors Marvin Hamlisch, John McDaniel, and Eric Stern.
He is a Music Director & Teaching Artist with Broadway Dreams Foundation (Los Angeles), performed for the world premiere of The ASL Cabaret at The Wallis/Annenberg, and for the “Words & Music Project” (WAM) with La Jolla Playhouse & San Diego Opera. He also created an original work with the San Diego Ballet in 2019, (Songs from My Grandmother’s Piano.) He toured with Forbidden Broadway and the original Tony-award winning “Jersey Boys”, The Midtown Men.
More recent work: Cris co-wrote and Music-Directed the NYC debut at Feinstein’s/54 Below of two original cabarets “Swing and a Miss” and “Moonlight Cocktail,” held concerts at Martinis Above 4th, co-produced/music-directed a fundraiser for ALS Research at Qualcomm’s Jacobs Hall, and co-produced/music-directed every one of the the wildly successful, Campus Superstars, sponsored by Hillel of SD.

His experience and formal education in Bachelor’s and Master’s studies in Voice, Vocal Performance, and Music Education propels him forward to enhance the coaching all of his Studio clients receive. He has accompanied thousands of individual auditions, and been on countless panels of adjudications. He is a proud member of NATS, and an adjudicator for the NHSMTA (“The Jimmys”) through The Broadway League, and has several clients that have finished in the tied for 2nd in the National finals in NYC.

I teach, coach and work with ALL levels and experience, customizing the training to meet the specific application and need: from working with singers prepping for recitals, recordings, scholarship contests, to working on roles for stage and screen; working with singer/songwriters to tighten their vocals, strengthen their rhythm, even help arrange their originals and edit lyrics!

I have been a Vocal Coach/Accompanist for over 30 years, Music Director and Soundtrack/Sound Designer, and Arranger for hundreds of projects of all levels; have taught many clinics for school, college, and community groups, and a Professional Actor and Voiceover Artist since 1993.

I am happy to connect for a call and learn where you are in your journey, where you want to go, and help determine the best path forward. This is a very personal process and it is important that it is right for both of us.

And, if you send in a recording of something you can do (could be just singing, speaking voice, playing piano/keyboard, or anything that would give me a sense of your current level is fine!) as a NATS member, I am willing to offer you a complimentary 30-minute session on me.

Of course, if you want to just hire me (as opposed to train you), that is wonderful as well!! 🙂

Looking forward to connecting with you soon! ~ Cris
