Annie Powell is in her fifth year of teaching at the College of Idaho, and loves her job and her students! She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Southern University in 2014 and a Master’s degree in Vocal performance from Brigham Young University in 2016. She then headed to the midwest where she completed a year of doctoral studies at Indiana University before ending up here in Treasure Valley. Most recently Annie had the pleasure of learning from Ingo Titze and other notable voice scientists and pedagogues while earning a Vocology certificate at the University of Utah’s 2021 Summer Vocology Institute.
Although teaching is her primary passion, Annie also loves to perform. Her favorite performed roles include Rosina in Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia and Cherubino in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro. When Annie isn’t teaching or singing you could find her curled up with a good book, baking, hiking, or heading down to Arizona to visit her nieces and nephew!
